Privilege Notice to Chief Editor of English Daily North Lines

Jammu, March 27 (Scoop News)-The Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly has issued a breach privilege notice to the chief Editor of English Daily The North Lines, for carrying a news item captioned, ‘Best Legislator’ Vs Upright Principal.

The chief editor of the North Lnes has been asked to ensure his presence in the office chamber of Speaker on March 29, 2010 at 02.30 pm in this connection.

According to sources,the notice,under no LA-2945-46,dated 26-3-2010 which was served to the Chief editor of North lines on March 26 through information department , after the breach of priviladge notice given by Harash Dev Singh MLA against the chief editor of daily The North Lines Jammu for its news item captioned Best Legislator’ Vs Upright Principal carried by it on March 25,2010

The notice said that speaker of J&K Legislative Assembly while examing the notice, sought the presence of chief editor of The North Lines newspaper on March 29 at 2 pm in his office chamber.

Mean while The Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly has withdrawn the  privilege notice aganist to the Chief Editor of Urdu Daily Srinagar Times Basir Ahemad Bashir.

The chief editor of the Srinagar Times Basir Ahemad Bashir.was also asked to respond to the notice by presenting himself on March 29 at 2 pm in the office chambers of Speaker under letter no LA/2940-44/Legn/2010,Dated 26/3/2010.

But in a fresh order the secretary, Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly has withdrawn the notice sent to Bashir Ahemad, Chief Editor of Srinagar Times on March 26,2010

 In a commnication  to Chief Editor Bashir Ahemad Bashir,Letter said that "there is no requirment to attend the office chamber of the speaker of Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
