Professional wrestler Kurt Angle 40, was arrested on Saturday morning in a suburban Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, strip mall and was charged by police with possession of drugs and paraphernalia, violating an order of protection and driving with a suspended license. Angle posted bond and was released from custody, with two hearings on the charges scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
After an argument with his girlfriend on Friday evening, the woman obtained an order of protection from authorities. Approximately an hour and one-half later the woman called police from a coffee shop, stating that Angle was circling the parking lot in his vehicle. When stopped by police, Angle was in possession of the human growth hormone Hygetropin, a prescription drug. Angle stated that he was searching for a hotel to stay in because he was not allowed to return home due to the protection order.
Kurt Angle was a two-time NCAA wrestling champion and won the Olympic gold medal in 1996. Angle turned professional in 1998, and is currently the Total Nonstop Action (TNA)Wrestling champion
