Asst. Professor and Head Department of Computer Sciences Govt. SPMR College of Commerce Parveen Singh brought laurel to the country by attending 21 days United Nation 4th Workshop on “South South Cooperation on Science and Technology to Address climate change” held at Kunming ,China from 21st Oct to 5th of November 2014 . Twenty three Delegates from different part of the world were shortlisted to attend this premiere workshop which was sponsored by Department of International Cooperation Ministry of Science and Technology, People Republic of China. Prof Parveen Singh represented India and presented detail Country report in the two days UN conference followed by 19 days workshop and presented paper on how latest technology can be used to mitigate problem arising due to climate change . Prof Parveen Singh paper titled “Climate Change: Indian perspective, Mitigation and adaption” was declared best paper among all the 23 papers presented by the delegates from different part of the world. Prof Parveen Singh in his paper elaborated that how climate change has played havoc all over world and also in India especially Kashmir and Utrakhand and what are the ways and means which needs to be adopted by developing as well as developed countries by which such natural disaster can be controlled .During 19 days workshop the delegates visited various Industries ,Govt. as well as private Institute ,Universities , research and development centers and also interacted with various Scientist, Industrialist , technocrats and bureaucrats involved in the development of various green technologies ,to have first hand information about the techniques used for the development of such technologies and how these technologies can be transferred to other countries ,which if adopted can make the earth a better place to live in. Prof Parveen Singh has been invited to Laos where second phase of this workshop will be held in the month of May 2015.
