Srinagar,April 2 (Scoop News) – Professor Neelofer Khan is the new director Directorate of Distance Education, University of Kashmir. She assumed the Charge of Director, Directorate of Distance Education, University of Kashmir from 1st of April this year after Prof Shafeeqa Parveen completed her tenure..
A Gold Medallist in education, Prof. Khan has excelled and contributed for Distance Learning Systems especially in the field of Teacher education. Presently, she is in capacity of Director, Directorate of Lifelong Learning (DLL), and Kashmir University as well. During her tenure, she contributed in non-formal and extension education which earned progress and high values to the Directorate. Her contribution to the field of outreach activities has been appreciated largely from almost every quarter of the society.
Dr. Khan has conducted a series of multipurpose programmes for the overall development of the community in the State, for that reason, she has received several awards. Recently she has been awarded as Best Performer in Non Formal & Extension Education by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), University of Kashmir. The DLL has marched ahead under her leadership. She has taken various initiatives to empower the deprived sections of the society especially the youth. Dr.Khan has authored many books on Training Teachers.
Apart from having associations with various Universities and State level organisations, she is a NAAC member Assessor for Teacher Education Programmes. In addition to this, she is a member in Executive Body of Open Schools in J&K State Board of School Education.
