Relief Commissioner (Migrants), Vinod Koul and other officers of PHE, R&B, Revenue and Relief also accompanied the Ministers during their visit to Jagti village.
Interacting with the officers, Bhalla asked the executing agency to complete the ongoing development works of parks, flats, 40-bedded hospital, two multipurpose community halls, shopping complex, one Higher Secondary and one Middle school, play field besides approached roads by December 03, 2011 so that after inauguration, the allotment would be made available to displaced families by February next year. He said that for creating laboratory, library, furniture and other infrastructural facilities in the schools, an amount of Rs.50 lakh has been given to Director School Education.
For construction of auditorium in the colony, the Minister said the Government has earmarked Rs. 1 crore for this purpose besides Rs. 1.5 crore for establishment of old age home with capacity of 50 persons. He said that coalition Government was fully aware of displaced families’ hardships and is making all out efforts to mitigate them in a phased manner.
Taking serious note on delay of work, Bhalla asked the Relief Commissioner (Migrants) to penalize the penalty to the executing agency as per fine fixed by the Government. He directed the executing agency to complete the pre-mixing work of approach roads including internal link roads in double shifts within a week’s time, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 7.40 crore. He asked the concerned authorities to clear land acquisition cases of those whose land was acquired for construction of township and roads.
Bhalla said that Government is committed to provide accommodation to the Kashmiri Pandit Migrant employees and to fulfil the commitment, the prefabricated quarters have been put up at Vessu, Mattan, Sheikhpora in Budgam, Hall in Shopian and Baramulla, adding that more such quarters would come up for which land has already been identified across the Valley.
At Vessu and Mattan, about 200 quarters are underway over 100 kanals of land and the shared accommodation would be provided to the candidates to be posted in Anantnag and Kulgam districts.
The Minister asked the concerned executing agency to take up the work on rest of the quarters soon so that the project is completed by the time frame. He asked for construction of multi-purpose community hall, dispensary, fair price shop and boundry wall, besides blacktopping of link road.
Bhalla was apprised that finishing touch on 140 quarters at Vessu is being given and will be handed over to the candidates by end of December this year. He was informed that the plinth work of 97 more quarters would be completed by January next year. Separate blocks have been identified for accommodating female candidates in the venues.
The candidates selected in Baramulla and Kupwara district would be given accommodation at Baramulla in the first phase and in the second phase the quarters will be constructed at Kupwara. For
