Srinagar, June 29(Scoop News) – Saluting people for maintaining calm and restrain despite unbearable tragedy and grief that has befallen due to gutting of revered shrine of Peer Dastgeeer, (RA) at Khanyar, Srinagar, the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim today said that a time bound Action Plan to recreate the shrine which will be a grand architectural marvel on war footing.
Speaking at a press conference at Banquet Hall, Srinagar, this afternoon, Rather said Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has already issued orders for preparing an Action Plan to recreate the shrine of Peer Dastgeer akin to its original design and architecture, which will be finalized in consultation with the all stakeholders and the Sajada Nisheen of the Shrine Syed Khalid Hassan Geelani. he said it was matter of great satisfaction that all the Tabarukat are safe and intact, which were displayed by the Sajada Nisheen of the Shrine himself before the media and people.
Flanked by the Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud-Din and Minister for Science and Technology, Aga Syed Ruhulla, the Finance Minister cautioned the people about the machination of some element who try to put the people in trouble by creating law and order situation. Citing the incident at Gundi Hussi Bhat, Rather said nobody will be allowed to disturb the peace adding that it was the prime duty of the government to save the lives and property of the people. He said people are fed up with violence and are yearning for peace and tranquillity.
Rather said “right now our priority is recreating the shrine and restoring its pristine glory which needs peace and tranquillity”.
Rather said the government equally shares the grief and mourning of the people due to this tragedy adding that the digital videography of the entire shrine complex and its interiors is available with the government and will be used in recreating the shrine as per its original design and form as soon as possible.
Rather also announced that the 2nd part of the proposed Action Plan regarding protection and preservation of the other shrine of the state will also be prepared by the experts on war footing basis.
Rather solicited cooperation of civil society in bringing out truth about this fire incident and called upon the media to also contribute in this regard. He said media has a key role to play in this hour of agony and despair. He appealed the media to come upto the expectations of the people in keeping peace and harmony in the state so that disruptive elements do not get any chance to vitiate the atmosphere. He said an FIR has already been registered in the case and media and the members of civil society are also welcome to provide inputs which could facilitate the meaningful, investigations being conducted by the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir.
Taj Mohi-ud-Din and Aga Ruhulla also spoke on the occasion and saluted the people of the state for maintaining peace and harmony despite unbearable loss and agony due to gutting of the revered shrine.
