Protests against corruption in different developmental projects

CHITRALl: Protests against corruption in different developmental projects are continued at different parts o Chitral. Protesters started the rally from Chewo Bridge and form a shape of protest in Jounali. Qazi Abdurauf was leading the session at Polo Ground where local leaders of different parties and representatives of civil society participated in it. The raley was converted into a public meeting at polo ground Chitral under the chair of Qazi Abdul Raoof.
Speakers of the protest said that Abdul Wali Khan bypass which was to be completed in 2011 but still the work is incomplete and road are showing ruins. They said that contractor of this road is a laboratory attendant in Government Degree College upper Dir but working as contractor in Chitral illegally , Police are working as his security guards in Bazar while there is no work on the road. They also pointed out that the bridge on Molin Goul stream near Chitral Scouts Headquarter which is under construction substandard and defective material are being using in it and we fear that a minor flood will flow the bridge.
They said that 340 million rupees were spent on Golian Water supply scheme but very defective and cheap pipes were used in this project with substandard material but people are still depriving from drinking water. They also alleged that the contractor paid huge commission in this project to local PMA and Public Health Engineering high ups. They demanded of the National Accountability Bureau to recover the 340 million rupees from the Public Health department corrupt officers and from the contractor.
They said that Goulian Hydel Power station would be completed next year, they demanded 30 MW electricity from this project for Chitral as Chitral is passing from very critical stage of energy crises. They also demanded for the up gradation of Saingor Power House. A resolution was also passed on the occasion and was demanded from Chairman and Director General NAB to investigate and recover the 340 million rupees of Goulain Goal project. 30 MW electricity from Goulian Hydel Power House for Chitral and to complete Bypass road without any further delay.
