Roughly 2000 Myanmar citizen who live in Malaysia protested in front of the Myanmar Embassy on Thursday morning at Ampang Hilir Street.
Protesters carried banners which expressed their objections to the country’s military junta for using violence and urged the junta to halt the killing of pro-democracy protesters.
Groups representing National League for Democracy (LA) Malaysia (NLD), Burma-Workers’ Rights Protective Committee (BWRPC) and Democratic People New Society (DPNS) later walked to the Russian and Chinese embassies to give a memoranda to their countries representatives.
The memoranda requested that the military stop the clamp down on monks; the release of NLD leader Aung San Suu Kyi; the release of student leaders from the 1988 demonstrations; as well as the implementation of national reconciliation and trilateral talks.
Ye Min Tun, Coalition spokesmanand the BWRPC general-secretary, said the people of Myanmar has suffered long enough.
Protesters had a peaceful demonstration for one hour before handing over the memoranda.
