Ordinary and Normal Lives in five major south Districts Of Orissa, viz, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Raygada, Ganjam , Koraput were frozen or you can say paralyzed on Monday due to ‘Town Close’ called by the CPI-ML & SUCI and other organizations, who have been protesting against the violence against Christians in Kandhamala Area.
Although shops and all other small and large business concerns have remained opened in Kandhamal area, but the protests were successful in Daringibadi, Brahmani Gaon, Raikia, Kotagada and Tumudibandh areas. The protestors have blocked all the main roads, burned tires to block the roads. They also forcibly closed the business houses, shops and some shops who did not cooperate with the protesters were burnt.
At The same time many protesters have blocked the Kapilas Chhak in Rayagada hindering movement of vehicular traffic to Berhampur, Bhavanipatna, Koraput, Parlakhemundi and Visakhapatnam etc.
The protestert have been demanding 12 points charter like arrest of rioters, compensation to affected people in Kandhamal violence and security to life and property of the people in Kandhamal District.
