Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxations, Tariq Waleed Sehgal has said that it is the responsibility of all of us to provide necessary training to the disabled persons so that they could lead their lives in a normal manner. NGOs should set up such institutions which could trained them according to their abilities, he added.

He expressed these views while addressing as a chief guest the function held in connection with the international day for the disabled under the aegis of Lahore Businessmen Association for the disabled at Race Course Park, here today. President Lahore Businessmen Association Parvaiz Malik, President Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Muhammed Ali Mian, Chairman PIAF Mian Misbah ur Rehman, Yaqoob Tahir Izhar, Abuzar Shad, industrialists and office-bearers of Lahore Businessmen Association were present on the occasion. A large number of special children from different schools of Lahore also participated in the function. The Minister said that the government has set up the department of special education which is providing latest educational facilities to the handicapped persons near their homes. He said that students are benefiting from this network and are leading a normal life according to their abilities. He said that it is our obligation to imbue them with the spirit of service to the nation and the country instead of neglecting them so that they could achieve a commendable place in the society.

Earlier the administration of Lahore Businessmen Association informed that the association is engaged in the welfare of the disables persons for the last five years and holds this function every year with the cooperation of various companies. It was further informed that Lahore Businessmen Association has also started provision of free training facility of sewing for the disabled persons of Lahore and persons completing training are also provided jobs. The Minister lauded the efforts of Lahore Businessmen Association.
