Provincial Minister for Trade & Investment, Mina Muhammad Shafique has said that industrial department of UNO has lauded the ongoing industrial development in Punjab and on the basis of this a programme has been launched in the province to introduce production capabilities on modern lines and overcome the problems to be faced in this regard. He said that 30 lakh people of the province will be provided skilled training and job opportunities would be given to them while 70 thousand people will get employment at local level due to setting up of trade city in Lahore. He said that every possible assistance in trade city would be provided to the foreign and local investors under one-window operation system
This was stated by him during a meeting with the delegation of traders in his office, here today. The Minister said that a number of steps are being taken for the prosperity and stability of the province so that it could become strong economically. He said that the government has launched a number of various courses for elimination of poverty and unemployment by making the youth of the province skilled and capable so that they could become self reliant and help their families. He said that TEVTA, NEVTA and other vocational training institutes have started to play their role in this regard. He said that due to appreciation of industrial development in Punjab by the UNO, a cluster development programme has been launched in five districts.
Mian Muhammad Shafique said that modern trade city is being set up in Lahore over an area of about six kilometer where every kind of industry would be set up and local and foreign investors would be able to introduce their produce at local and foreign level. He said that this will help eliminate poverty and unemployment from the province.
