Public Service Guarantee Act a historic legislation to redress people’s grievances: Rather

Srinagar, October 5 (Scoop News) –    Asserting that the Government is endeavouring to provide a responsive, accountable and transparent administration to the people, the Minister for Finance . Abdul Rahim Rather today said that promulgation of Public Service Guarantee Act is a historical legislation aimed to redress grievances of the people in a time bound manner.

“Public servants shall have to dispose of people cases in specific time frame now or face disciplinary action as laid down in the historic act”. Rather said while interacting with a large number of people and deputations during Awami Mulakat held at his official residence today.

. Rather said that the Act would also help to eradicate corruption and make public servants accountable to the people. He said that it was government’s keen desire to reach out to the people at their door steps, to assess their problems adding that higher authorities have been directed to visit far-flung areas to provide equal opportunities of justice, prosperity and development to the people of all the regions of the State.
