Jammu, December 05 (Scoop News) –The public is suffering and the government is sleeping. The present NC-Congress coalition has least concern towards the problems of the public. This was alleged by BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas while expressing grave concern over the attitude of the state government on the issues raised by agitating advocates.
In a statement Mahas said that the party has been receiving continuous complaints from the public for the last few days that the ongoing strike has brought all the works at halt as the state government has decided to shift registry from court to revenue department, which will not serve any purpose, rather it will complicate the matters related to registration and common man will be the worst affected.
Appealing the coalition government for an early resolution of the demands of agitation Bar Association, Manhas said that public is suffering due to continued suspension of work in the courts due to strike by lawyers. The government should not make it a prestige issue and take immediate steps to ensure an early end to the inconvenience caused to the public due to ongoing agitation.
Extending full support to the Bar Association on behalf of his party, Shamsher Singh Manhas said that BJP always stood for justice to all sections of society and the lawyer community also deserved justice and demanded reversal of the government order to vest powers of registration of documents with executive officers.
According to Manhas, the BJP has taken a serious note of allegation made by Bar Association charging the Omar Abdullah government with misgovernance, high-handedness and succumbing to whims of “yesmen” surrounding the rulers.The Bar Association has accused state government of autocratic mannerism and draconian attitude, and this is a serious charge, said Manhas. He also supported the Bar Association contention that the Omar Government has shown immaturity in dealing with important issues, including Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA).
