Pull Back The Curtain: Looking Past What There Is To See

There is nothing happy about these days

Open your eyes we are all government slaves

For the same people that gave us Ebola and Aids

The same corporations that denied you a raise

The day after the bank told you to be out in 30 days

And all a single mother can do is watch her son as he prays

For a life that’s not as hard

Tell me why we pay the prison guard

More than the teachers

What if we switched it around and kept more seniors

In the high school bleachers

Instead of behind bars with lace-less sneakers

Everyone is a slave, only some are aware

That the governments releasing poison in the air

The things that they kept from us down in the President’s lair

All of the lies from the news casters

So easily confuse you bastards

When you convince people of what they see

And what they hear on the TV

Is what there really is to tell you and me

There is a system in place

Thriving on secrecy and deception

Classic misdirection for the inception of beliefs and fears for the public to consume

The way that the public seems to loom

In an unending state of limbo

Only getting a slice of truth, the real story as big as Kimbo

And so we roll the dice

Everyday with our life

A white man can conceal a weapon, black men cant carry a knife

Who protects us when the cops turn

Because I know that the sheriff is under a hood when I see the cross burn

Trayvon Martin resting in the urn

And George Zimmerman was a free man after court was adjourned

And the presence of police at peace protests is what keeps parents concerned

Why are we letting the injustices of cops bring back the riots of the 50’s and 60’s

Before the progress made by JFK, the Malcoms, the Martins, the Tupac’s & Biggies

The way that we got to the days of the Usher’s and Brittanys

Before the heroin they gave your grandfather ruined his kidneys

How come we use West Africa to test out the deadly diseases?

Has anyone ever questioned the reasons?

Right before saying the pledge of allegiance

What really happened to with Apollo 11?

Have they ever answered that question?

And I still maintain

That the government knew about 9/11

And used it as an excuse to take down building 7

Not caring about Kevin

Who prematurely went to heaven

With my churches reverend

There was too much heat coming down

So they dropped the buildings to the ground

And hid what they found

But the real thing buried in the rubble

Was the notion of the American struggle

As we lined up against the Middle East like we came out of the huddle

Its time for the people to write a truthful history book

That explains everything the powers at be want to overlook

How white men were the first ones cooking crack

And selling to the ghetto way back

And Eazy E tried to say that

And then they gave Eric HIV aids through his water tap

But if you take a look at

Nancy Reagan with her white hat

She only started just say no when it crossed the train track

And started to affect the way the suburbs act

So how is it that the public doesn’t know Egypt had a black pope

And they think it was fine to call Bird the Great White Hope

Just so that David Stern could get the masses to cope

With the fact the league

Was being run by show time: Magic Kareem

But that’s not how they made it seem

 On the TV Screen

Or else Boston would cause a scene

And I’ll keep this going

Until snoop stops smoking

Marijuana

Until I’m sent to live in a cabana

Smoking a Cubana

With Tupac in a boat off the coast of Nicaragua
