On December 23, 2014 Vladimir Putin submitted to the State Duma for ratification the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Abkhazia on Alliance and Strategic Partnership.
The Agreement was signed in Sochi on November 24, 2014.
“It is a primary document that sets forth the parties’ intention to develop a closer cooperation in the social, economic and humanitarian spheres as well in defense and security. The Agreement also serves to create the basis for executing separate agreements in those areas.”
