Qamarwari shootout once again proved that militants are active in Kashmir: BJP

Jammu,November 30 (Scoop News) -BJP State General Secretary Sat Sharma while condemning the militant shoot out in Qamarwari area of Srinagar city,  said that this incident has once again proved that still there are militants active in  the valley and that withdrawal of  troops and security pickets can prove to be dangerous.

In a statement he said after this incident, the state Chief Minister Omar Abdullah should reconsider his demand of withdrawal of troops or remove security pickets. He said that the presence of security forces and keeping intact the security pickets is the need of the hour as the situation demand so.

Sharma asked the Kashmir based leaders of NC and PDP not to politicize the issue of withdrawal of security forces. These leaders should have the accurate information of the ground realities and support the continuance of security forces for the safety and security of the lives and property of common people of the state.

Sat Sharma said that the party has chalked out a number of programmes of different modes to be undertaken in phased manner at different levels against the utterances of the Chief Minister over the issue of accession, repeated discrimination with Jammu province, rehabilitation of militants, delay in holding Delimitation in the state and step-motherly treatment to Jammu in giving compensation and packages to transporters, industrialists, shopkeepers, tourism and travel industry, who suffered losses during the 2008 agitation.

Sharma said the party had launched the agitational programmes earlier this month by organizing a massive Workers Convention on December 20 at Jammu, which was followed by 3-hour Jammu bandh-Chakka Jaam on December 27, which got overwhelmingly response from the public. He said it is in this series that protest demonstrations, besides burning of effigies of State Chief Minister and UPA government will be organized at Mandals level in the state for one week starting from 1st December.
