Ukrainian anti-government hacking group CyberBerkut claimed on Saturday it had leaked confidential documents of Polish-Ukrainian arms company “Level 11” which unveiled the details of the deal between state-owned military manufacturing holding “UkrOboronProm” and Qatar Ministry of Defense, “International Business Times” reports.
It’s not clear yet whether Qatar is going to operate the systems within its forces or to use it for reexport.
The hackers stress that Qatar is known to be the donator of ISIS though Doha says it supplies only moderate Syrian rebels who fight Assad regime. Meanwhile the weapons send to the moderate opposition may be driven to the hands of ISIS jihadists occasionally or deliberately.
Military experts point out that this kind of air defense weapons might be very useful for ISIS because of ongoing Russian and Coalition airstrikes and the fact that a lot of former Saddam officers who can operate Soviet-made weapons are in ISIS now.
