MINGORA April 11 :- A representative delegation of Qaumi Amn Jirga Saturday held detailed meeting with rebel cleric Maulana Fazlullah which the jirga described highly successful and result oriented.
The Qaumi Amn Jirga led by its Chief Syed Inamur Rehmman held a meeting with the head of Swat Taliban Maulana Fazlullah at an undisclosed location in Swat district which continued for over two hours.
Briefing newsmen after the meeting, leader of Qaumi Amn Jirga Syed Inamur Rehman said the meeting mainly focused on current situation in Swat with respect to law and order besides taking up some other matters. “Yes talks were successful and some progress made viz a viz peace”, he said when asked.
Maulana Fazlullah told the jirga members that “we have offered all these sacrifices for Nifaz e Shariat and we have no personal agenda to fulfill but wants Shariat”.
The Jirga Chief further informed that Maulana Fazlullah clear stated during the meeting that he would not ask for any compensation from the government against the damages caused to Swat Taliban.
He said, Maulana Fazlullah was satisfied with the peace efforts of Maulana Sufi Muhammad and assured to abide by the peace pact. He also instructed his fellow Taliban to remain peaceful and honored the peace deal in letter and spririt.
Earlier, in the day, the Qaumi Jirga also met security officials and a delegation of TNSM separately and held detailed discussion on current situation in the district, Nizam e Adl and peace deal.
