Just a day after mild tremors felt in the region, an earthquake of moderate intensity, measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale, rattled the Kashmir valley again on Saturday morning. However, no loss of life or property was reported. "The quake occurred exactly at 11.18 a.m and its epicentre was located in the Hindu kush mountain region of Afghanistan," T K Joshi, assistant director of the meteorological office in the state capital told.
A moderate-intensity quake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale had struck the valley Friday. The temblor triggered panic among residents of the city and many rushed out of their homes.
