Tara Chand was addressing a massive gathering of Shivratri Milan, organized by J&K Barwala Sadhar Sabha at Tallab Tillo today.
He said that the children if properly groomed would prove to support the State’s economy and would ensure progress and prosperity.
Speaking about the secularist character of the State, ?Dy. Chief Minister said that there is age old tradition of communal harmony and brotherhood among various sections of the society adding that every citizen has to maintain its sanctity by strengthening bonds of amity and tranquillity.
Referring to the Gandhian philosophy, the main source of inspiration for all, Dy. Chief Minister said that all of us must follow the teachings of Gandhi ji and live strictly as per the principles taught by him. Dy. Chief Minister that our Government is following the principles of secularism and equality among all sections of the society, irrespective of caste, creed or colour as enshrined in the constitution by Baba Sahib Dr. B. R. Ambedkar
Remembering the great leaders who fought for the freedom of the country, dy. Chief Minister said that the leaders sacrificed their lives for the cause of nation and integrity.
Stressing for eradication for social evils from the society, Dy. Chief Minister said that every individual can play a pivotal role in eradication of social evils, hindering the development of the State. He said that education is the best solution for eradication for social evils.
Expressing his support for the downtrodden and underprivileged class of the society, Dy. Chief Minister said that there is a proper law for the safeguard of the interests of underprivileged class and this law is in force to provide reservation to different categories in getting education, scholarships and above all government job. In addition we have enacted J&K Reservation Act to ensure proper representation to downtrodden and backward sections of the society.
Referring to recently announced, Sher-i-Kashmir Employment Programme, Dy. Chief Minister asked the unemployed youth to take maximum benefit of the scheme by setting up of their income generation units and live a dignified life.
