So far, issues with voting machines have been reported in New Jersey and Virginia. In regards to Fairfax, Virginia, there has been an incident at one of the voting areas, in which the memory cards to a few machines were not working properly.
A new incident has arisen in Raleigh, North Carolina. This is the third state that is reporting issues with voting.
The area where the incident was reported at is the Barwell Road Community Center. So far it has been revealed that chief judge forgot to take the ballots out the truck when they were dropped off.
That incident delayed the voting. Luckily, new ballots had arrived. Unfortunately, another problem has arisen.
While the new ballots have arrived, there is another factor in play: rain. So far, the weather early morning in North Carolina has been rainy. As new ballots have come, they got soaked with the rain water.
As a result, the ballots won’t read in the scanners.
“When we put the ballot through the scanner it is soggy and doesn’t go through,” explains Cherie Poucher, the director of the Wake County Board of Elections. Hopefully, this situation does not cause any problems.
For those that are dealing with the rain and soggy ballots, hang in there. The problem should get resolved soon enough. Hopefully the weather will clear later on in the day.
