<p>Rakshabandhan is a famous Indian Festival celebrating across India.Rakshabandhan is one of the important festivals of Hindu which falls either in the month of July or in the month of August every year and being celebrated throughout the country.This year Rakshabandhan festival will be on 28 August 2007. </p>
<p>Raksha means "Protection" and Bandhan means "Bond" or "Tie".It is the festival of love between brother and sister.On Rakshabandhan day sister ties a silken thread on her brother’s right wrist.This silken thread is called "Rakhi".The shops are filled with colourful Rakhis in silk or cotton threads with sequinned or embroidered motifs.When sister ties Rakhi on her brother’s right wrist brother promises to protect her forever and giving always happiness to her.After tie Rakhi to brother’s right wrist sister gives sweets to brother and brother gives beautiful gift or cash to sister.This Rakhi serves as an amulet guarding the bearer from all evils.Brothers who are staying abroad,far away from sisters then sisters send their Rakhis by post to brothers.</p>
<p>Rakshabandhan festival started from so many years ago when Hindu Widowed Queen of Chittor named "Karmavati" was in trouble.Her kingdom was in trouble too.Then Queen Karmavati sent Rakhi ( a beautiful silken thread ) to Mughal Emperor "Humayu" and made brother of her.Mughal Emperor Humayu was very strong and powerful Emperor at that time.When Rakhi came to Mughal Emperor Humayu then Mughal Emperor Humayu immediately taken action and protected Queen Karmavati and her kingdom.Mughal Emperor Humayu respected the bond of the Rakhi.</p>
<p>Rakshabandhan is a bond of love between brother and sister.</p>
