Rana advocates opening of old trade routes




 

Jammu, March 11 (Scoop News) -Divender Singh Rana while appreciating the budget presented in the House said that the initiatives taken by the Government for bridging the gap between income and expenditure is quite laudable.

Mr Rana said that Finance Minister has taken utmost care of every sector, adding that per capita income in the state is better compared to the previous years’, besides other parts of the country. He said payment of 6th pay commission arrears to the State Government employees has also been accommodated judiciously in the budget proposal.

Regarding power scenario of the state, Mr Rana said that the initiatives taken by the present Government for improving and augmentation of the power generation in the State will yield far reaching and good results in near future. He asked all the members to rise out of politics and play their role in this direction so that a policy is evolved for overcoming this issue and need is to apply constructive approach while discussing the public issues.

Seeking cooperation from all the members, Mr Rana said that time has come to take tough steps and hard decisions for bringing more improvement in the power sector.    

While appreciating efforts of the Government for proposing the remuneration for Panchayati Raj Representatives,  Rana said that the same should be increased to Rs. 1000/-. He also called for opening up of different trade routes like Jammu-Sialkote, Mendher-Tatapani, Silk route so that the economy of the state gets a boost.
