5 died 3 injured in road mishap.
CHITRAL: As well as 5 persons died while 3 injured in different cases of road accident. According to detail a Pick up Dotson bearing registration no. C 5673 coming from Arandu (Pak Afghan border village) to Drosh some 45 KM from here fell down in a deep ravine while crossing a blind turn as a result 4 persons including 2 real brothers died on the spot. While 3 persons were injured badly. Those who died were known as Hazrat Bilad and Muhammad Siraj sons of Muhammad Qayum residents of Dameel Nisar, Sadiq son of Zaram resident of Dameel Nisar, Muhammad Hazir. The injured persons are Rahat Eida, Salam Khan and Abdul Razaq. Police cop of Arandu and Mirkhani police post reached on the spot and who immediately rushed the injured persons to Drosh hospital.
In an other road mishap a car (ghagai) was on its way from Rumboor Kalash valley to Chitral which was faced to road accident at Karkordesh Rumboor as a result Naseeruddin son of Mubarak resident of Bakamak died on the spot while 2 other injured.
SNID launched at Chitral.
CHITRAL: Sub National Immunization Days (SNID) started here at Chitral to administer polio drops to children at their door step. The campaign was likely to be start from April 8 as per schedule but due to closing of main road at Lawari top and suspension of PIA flights Polio vaccine (oral drop) could not reach here timely as a result polio drive was postponed for a few days. Hence Dr. Inayatullah EPI Coordinator (Expanded Program for Immunization) arranged to carry polio drops via Kunar Afghanistan. Chidren upto the age of 5 years would be administered polio drops during 3 days door to door campaign. Dr. Sher Qayum Executive District Officer Health (EDO) and Dr. Inayatullah EPI Coordinator have appeals parents to cooperate health teams and must administer polio drops to their children so as to declare Chitral a Polio Free District. They appeal in case of arrival of no health team parents should to inform them on Toll Free telephone No. 0800 12012 to manage for a second team to that area. So as to assure that no child was left without polio drop.
Free legal Aid Center open at Booni.
Free Legal Aid Center was open at Booni to facilitate needy poor, helpless and oppressed women of the area and their cases would be trialed free of cost in court. Niaz Ali shah Coordinator Easy & Equitable Access to Justice Program for Women of Chitral, Niaz A. Niazi president LAFH said while addressing on the occasion of opening ceremony of FLAC that doors of this center will be open for those poor women who can,t bear expenditure of courts and can not pay to lawyers. They said the Booni was selected for this center because of a vast area and people from Mastuj, Mulkoh, Torkho can easily approach here. As an other Free Legal Aid center has been open at Chitral. Ghulam Ali Shah Advocate was given the task to trial at least 3 cases in a month free of cost for poor and deserving women. M. Muzzafar member Board of Director BLSO presented a cheque of rupees 20000 for office furniture to Ghulam Ali Shah Advocate. Social and political circle of Booni hailed LAFH and appreciated EEAPJW for opening of Free Legal Aid Center at Booni. They termed that the center will minimize grievances of poor women of the area who can not approach courts for their right.
DBA Chitral condemned Karachi incidence.
An emergency meeting of District Bar Association Chitral held here under the chair of Khurshid Hussain Mughul Advocate president DBA at Bar room Chitral. All the members attended the meeting. They strongly condemned aggravation and insulting with lawyers at Karachi at their offices. They termed it a pre plan conspiracy for failure of Lawyers movement. They also termed aggressive step with Arbab Ghulam Rahim and Sher Afghan Niazi as conspiracy against the lawyers’ movement. Hence President DBA appeal the lawyers for tolerance and announced that Lawyers movement will be continuing despite unfavorable situation.
Student distinction.
Adil Jan son of Sameen Jan (late) resident of Jalhar passed with brilliant numbers at Class 4. who was a student of Al-Furqan Academy Kotak and secured 726 marks out of 750 marks. He was given award and cash prize by Principal and administration of the school. He attributed his success towards praying of mother, hardworking and best management of the school.
Wheat smuggling bid foiled
CHITRAL: Chitral police has foiled the attempt of smuggling wheat and flour into Afghanistan through the Arandu border here on Friday. DPO Sher Akbar told scribe that during initial operations, the police has recovered about 60 bags of wheat and flour and arrested the smugglers and has registered cases against them under 3/7 black marketing act. He said that smuggling of the commodity into the neighbouring country was on the rise over the couple of days which posed its shortage in the district. He said that the public grievances were growing against the practice and demanded immediate action. He said that the police has cordoned off the roads leading to the Arandu border while the interrogation of the arrested persons will lead to uncover the whole gang involved. He expressed his determination that strict measures will be taken to put an effective check to the smuggling of wheat.
