Rather cited many examples to underscore the importance of science adding that science has cleared all the myths and superstitions associated with eclipse of the sun and the moon and today science explains in very clear terms as to what the real facts are about the eclipse of the sun and the moon and how exactly the event takes place from its beginning to the end. “Scientific calculations predict even the exact time and date of such events, years in advance and also project as to in what shape the event shall be visible at different places on our globe,” he added.
Rather said it was just a little over one year ago that many people believed that our world would come to an end on the 21st December, 2012. It was left only to the scientists of the world to come out with very valid and simple scientific arguments to clarify that no super natural phenomenon was developing within or around our planet, which would suggest that the world would come to an end all of a sudden on this day. All of us were saved of un-necessary panic.
