Anantnag/Srinagar, January 02(Scoop News) –In order to take stock of arrangements being made for celebrating Republic Day-2013 with gaiety and fervour, several officers meetings were held at different district headquarters of Valley.
In Anantnag, a meeting was held here today under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Farooq Ahmad Shah.
The meeting was attended by all district officers, which include J&K Police, CRPF and Fire and Emergency Services.
The District Development Commissioner was informed that on January 24, 2013, a full dress rehearsal and on January 26, Republic Day will begin with Shahnai Wadan at Government Boys Degree College, Anantnag.
Later, chief guest will take salute at parade and march past, in which J&K Police, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, Army, Fire and Emergency Services, Home Guard, NCC and school children will participate.
A cultural programme will follow, in which besides students of various schools, artists of State Information Department will participate.
The meeting was further informed that similar functions will be held at Tehsil headquarters and in case, snowfall takes place, Mechanical Engineering department was directed to clear the snow on all the routes of the district.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Nisar Hussain Wani was appointed Nodal Officer for smooth conduct of Republic Day.
Additional Commissioner Revenue and SSP Anantnag also attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, The District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Sarmad Hafeez today convened a meeting of District Officers to review the preparedness and arrangements for the forth coming Republic Day-2013 celebrations.
The meeting was attended by SSP Kupwara, ADCs of Kupwara and Handwara, officers of J&K Police, BSF, CRPF, Education, Fire and Emergency Services, PDD, Health, PWD, MED, Youth Services & Sports and Municipal Committee, Kupwara.
The meeting constituted various committees comprising of officers, for the smooth conduct of the Republic Day programmes regarding security, selection of school children, cultural programmes, refreshment, snow clearance, water, power, transport and health care facilities besides seating arrangements.
It was decided in the meeting that main function will be organized at DPL Kupwara with Shahnai Wadan and the chief guest will host the national flag and inspection of march past attended by the JKP and other security force contingents and school children followed by the cultural programmes.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara will be the Nodal Officer for the smooth conduct of programmes.
The government installations functioning at the district headquarter would also be illuminated.
It was further informed that in case of snowfall the R&B, MED and Municipal Committee, Kupwara shall ensure the snow clearance for smooth conduct of the celebrations.
Meanwhile, District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, Ghulam Ahmad Khawaja convened an officers meeting in which officers of Education, R&B, PHE, Health, Municipality, Fire and Emergency Services besides J&K Police and various security agencies participated.
The meeting was informed that in addition to taking salute on march past and presentation of cultural programme, vital government buildings will be illuminated in the district.
