READ YOUR BOOK
BY ADETAYO ADEBAYO
“Read your book” was the statement made by Philo’s grandma, when she need to go back with her mother after four years of marriage dissolution time.
The grandma statement makes the girl to always want to read her book even in dinning hour. Her mother challenged her one-day, ‘Do you get possessed with reading habit?’
Philo is a reader and grandma knew that well but her workaholic mother never has passion for that anymore. And, we all might agree that this prompt discouragement can change the girl’s orientation.
Parents that do not have any similar feeling or reading culture might even forget to remind their children to read his/her book after school hour or in holiday time. Parents need to abide in principle that will help them develop new home science for career and development of their children. Parents might not be educated but they have to be encouraging the children to abide in reading culture especially light article to ginger them to pace forward beyond their imagination. Parents also need to read article for more information to guide their offspring to the independent mindset.
Up to five millions of women in Africa and Asian were uneducated and they cannot read at all. But these women were using their society well being to enlighten their children to be like someone or to bring pride to the family. That could be a big challenge to educated ones in developed country that forget to show signs of good motherhood or fatherhood to their beloved kids. They were busy pursuing careers and leave the whole total job to housemaid. They left the social and education orientation to the schools and teachers who have other plan for their children, and their lives. Several women were Working Class unlike their spouse, and they have less time for home issue that will definitely be encouraging factors for the children. They neglect those issue with chip orientation knowledge needed for their children as they see or hear. They forget to provide those books and articles that concern the children well being: those magazines that can pass messages easily at every point in time. Every mother cares for their child but how many of them care for those things from different range of information world?
A scientist makes it known that children of adolescent age develop a fast growing brain due to information, enlighten and environment. And as parents, we have to construct these fractions for their usefulness to the society. And to be able to do that, we have to continue know more to encourage and to discourage them, and use that avenue to prompt them for better information that will help to be at positive side. Main way is to allow their reading culture to increase in informative line, and then explained better afterward.
Children of adolescent age also need to know that what they read, watch, hear, and learn have positive or negative impact in their life. Your have to encourage as a mother or father for them to adapt to good ones.
That’s why that grandmother prompt her granddaughter to keep up in her reading culture for better enlighten, latest information and good knowledge on environment.
Modern parent have to borrow; everything that can possess the habit, to encourage their children to read direct for their easy learning. Someone with a bit information will surely guest to know more. And, he/she loaded with that information; it will be easier to go forward with light direction from their parent. Reading culture should be the go-getter and both parents and children need to participate for better society. Child that read well always the brilliant one; and that buttress the popular saying, ‘Charity begins at home.’ Of mother and father cultivate habit of reading culture, their children also will engage with free mind. Knowledge is power, small information from old magazine can give someone scope to life. What we really want to achieve is what we go after but we forget that information inside the paper can change someone orientation. May be now that everything lives inside informative technology. We have to acquire those one that will make us guiding angels to our offspring for better thinking and future orient. ‘Fix the bulb for the house, so that he can see along with you; fix the seat in the house, so that she can sit to reason with you’.
Four children of age 10 were interviewed by a psychologist to know how they were abide in their various reading cultures and what their real parents feel about them when they engage in reading. First one laughed and smiles afterward, “My mother do not care if I read or not. After all, I read my book in school.” Second child said, “My mother buy books for me but my mother do not read them with me, “Third child complemented. “My father prefers taking me to the Movie than buy me a storybook. I read my story book if I like.” Fourth kids says, “I enjoy reading my books and my magazine with my parents; we exchange in reading my magazine together.”
Those four kids have started developing or believe in the manner their parents relate to them when it turns to reading time. They believe in relationship and they will grow up with fundamental. Those who not have the parent encouragement may not bother to read again when he/she passed the age.
Parents have their role to play and they must play it well.
