I viewed this critically acclaimed movie, Rear Window, by Alfred Hitchcock. And I did not care for it at all. Mr. Hitchcock has often been called a genuis movie auteur, and director. He has been called the man with an orginal idea, et al. But in my own humble opinion, regarding Rear Window I saw no such magic.
This movie that was filmed on stage 17 at Paramount studios, just does not do it for me. In many ways I have to say that the movie came across as an old fuddy duddy movie. In other words like a movie that would appeal to an audience in 1950. Well, I am now in 2008 and watching this movie for the very first time. And I will repeat that I do not see any of this so-called Alfred Hitchcock magic.
