Staff absent from government Schools, wheat ware house, and other Govt. organizations.
CHITRAL: The most neglected and remote area of Rech (Tehsil Torkho) is totally deprived from all basic amenities. A protest rally was held at Rech valley under auspices of Awami Insaf Committee (Public Justice committee). Addressing to protest gathering Zulfiqar president of AIC said that Rech area is most neglected and backward area of Tehsil Torkoh. Road condition is very worsen and there is no Doctor, no electricity, telephone, college and nor any other basic amenities in the area. Majority of girls students discontinue their education after passing matriculation examination in boys school because there is no separate high school for girls. Other people comprising over elites and social workers of the area said that Rech area consist over 9000 population but its road is very dangerous passing through a hilly way thousands of feet above on the bank of River having so many blind turns. In case of accident vehicles plunged down thousands of feet deep ravine and River. Three persons were died in a fatal road accident last month. They said that so many people died during road mishap on this road because it have no side wall no parapet wall toward river side. They said that female teachers not perform their duty and they have hired non professional women on a nominal wage who teach and play with fate of students. They said that there is only one wheat (grain) ware house in Rech but staff is absent and they have hired a shopkeeper who distribute wheat once a week to people. Some 165 bags wheat are incepted (expire and injured to health) and there is only 27 bags wheat for 9000 population. They said that no developmental work was done in the area since 1947. A female social activist Miss Amina said that there is no lady nor male doctor in the whole valley and women patients are shifting to far away hospital but sometimes they expired on their way before reaching hospital due to deteriorated conditions of road. Especially women face great problems during their delivery because of no lady doctor and no other facilities for women folk in the valley.
They said that no Govt official (head of department ) have visited this remote and backward area nor any elected representatives paid visit here. They came here only at election time. They also criticized food department for charging rupees 118 per blank bag but it is selling on 25 only. They said that Benazir Income support program fund should be spent on food commodities and wheat should be provide on subsidize rate. They demanded for providing them all basic facilities otherwise they will boycott to cast their vote in coming election. A large number of people belongs to all walk of life attended this protest public meeting. it is worth to mention here that Rech is situated some 135 kilometers from Chitral but it takes 12 hours travelling because most poor condition of road and there is no developmental network in the entire valley. People of the area still living like of stone period. They thanked G.H. Farooqi a local journalist for visiting the area at first time and opened offices of complaints before the journalist.
