<p>Italian luxury sportswear brand Paul & Shark, in association with Reliance Brands, a retail subsidiary of Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Retail Limited, has opened its latest store in the southern metropolis of Chennai. The store is located on the Luxury Wing of Express Avenue Mall and is spread across 2000 sq.ft of space.</p>
<p>Notable by its distinctive shark logo, Paul & Shark is a lifestyle – sportswear brand. Paul & Shark, known for its high-end sportswear and casual wear collection for men and women, came to India last year via a 50:50 joint agreement with Reliance Brands. This JV will likely put in an investment of $ 30 million over the course of next five years in an effort to establish a strong footing in India’s budding high-end shopping segment, making it a relatively long term association.</p>
<p>Paul & Shark stores are currently located across the cities of New Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad. Their latest store marks the 4th store to be launched under the JV. The store is designed to exude a sense of balance in distribution of space. The ambience is characterized as elegant, contemporary and yet functional at the same time. Darshan Mehta, President & CEO, Reliance Brands, quoted on the latest store saying, “We are proud to be the early movers in bringing the first men’s luxury brand to Chennai. Chennai has a rich textile history and heritage (we gave the name “Madras checks” to the world!) and a tradition of discerning consumers that appreciate fine craftsmanship. With new age industries such as automobiles, IT, knowledge sourcing etc., the city now also has a growing tribe of young, cosmopolitan and trading up customers that are international in their mindsets.</p>
