Reliance Industries gives the gift of education to children of Jamnagar

<p>Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), India’s largest private sector enterprise and energy giant, amped up its corporate social responsibility in the hub of its core energy operations in the district of Jamnagar, Gujarat where representatives from RIL came in support of driving education opportunities for children in the RIL tenanted area.</p>

<p>This promotional drive saw representatives from Reliance family, along with local administrative heads, distribute 1545 school-kits to 69 schools of 42 villages in and around the district of Jamnagar. While 942 students from 32 schools in 18 villages in Jamnagar were presented with school-kits, neighboring districts, including Lalpur taluka, were also approached during this drive and 578 students from 37 schools in 24 villages of the taluka received the kits. Each of these school-kits contained a school-bag, slate, pen, pencil, notebook, color pencil, eraser, sharpener, a ruler and a compass box.</p>

<p>RIL has been proactive in its social welfare activities all along and this latest initiative is a continuation of Reliance’s long-drawn efforts towards promoting education for children in rural areas of India. Participating in the state government’s drive to encourage young girls to undertake education for almost six years now, Reliance’s community welfare efforts have been paramount. Both Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani have personally ingrained their time and effort towards supporting the community it functions in.</p>

<p>Professor Vasuben Trivedi, Minister for higher and technical education, women and child welfare; Dr. P.B.Vasoya, district panchayat president; Shri S.D.Vora , Deputy Conservator of forest, Sardar Sarovar project, Gandhinagar and Mamlatdar Shri M.M.Vansadia were also present to personally hand out the school-kits in Charntungi, Ragpar and Mota lakhia villages in Lalpur taluka alongside RIL officials.</p>

<p>Reliance Industries has a major refining complex in the Jamnagar district of Gujarat. This facility is the largest of its kind in India and following its inception, Jamnagar has emerged as the ‘Refining Hub of the World’ with the largest refining complex with an aggregate refining capacity of 1.24 million barrels of oil per day.</p>
