Jammu and Kashmir: Chief Secretary, Iqbal Khanday (IAS) has assured strict action against those erring officials who are involved in malpractices and had played part in past for misappropriation or bungling. He was replying to the points raised by a delegation under, senior BJP leader and former Corporator, Shiela Handoo.
“Ration slips meant for Kashmiri migrants are on sale. You have pay or else you will not be given slips, to which, I myself stands a witness” Handoo said adding that during the meeting with chief secretary, Jagti tenements construction scam was also discussed. She said that pathetic conditions of quarters which are built of substandard material amounts risk to inmates. She said regarding relief enhancement in case of infants and newborn was also discussed. She said that to feed a baby with a budget of Rs 400 per month is not possible. She pleaded that same should be enhanced to Rs 1000 at least. Handoo highlighted that ration is being distributed among migrants of little quantity that too not worth to use.

Let the ministers sent back their security and then only order migrants to join in valley after mere promotions, she said adding that government is mingling jobs with return policy which amounts to serious conspiracy. She said that issue of property of migrants and temples was also brought into the notice of CS. Sheila added that land mafia in nexus with revenue authorities has managed to change names of ownership of land, which should be probed and involved should be dealt with iron hand.

She said that mockery in the name of providing government jobs to unemployed educated youth and one time exgratia to over aged youth was also discussed in breath and length.
To a query, Sheila Handoo replied that it seems that government is hardly bothered of Kashmiri migrants and of their well being. She added that it seems that department is being run in the name of god and the authorities at the helm of affairs belong to a decayed lot. She said that if the menace continues to prevail the situation would turn ugly anytime in the days to come.
