Remains of a chinkara was found in the farmhouse of Dharamrao Atram. Forest official after getting a tip off conducted a raid at the farmhouse and found burnt skin , bones and other remains of a chinkara. Chinkara is an endangered deer species.
The farmhouse where the remains were found belonged to Dharamrao Atram who is Maharashtra minister for transport and tribal development.
The farmhouse is located at Khingar in Mahabaleshwar taluka. The deer was poached in the Purandar taluka forest area.
The forest official also raided the house of Dharamrao Atram which is situated at Aheri in Gadhchiroli district on the Maharashtra – Madhya Pradesh border and found two rifles & two trophies with mounted head of deer.
