Death toll reached to 6 by Cholera at Kalash valley.
CHITRAL: Death toll reached to 6 at Birir village of Kalash valley the most rare and indigenous people of the world. Section Head Officer (SHO) police station Ayun told this scribe. He said that he had already mentioned in his (report) diary submitted to District Police Officer Chitral that 6 people from both Muslim and Kalash (Non Muslims) including two women have been died by cholera (Gastro). While 25 people were affected by this disease. Medical Superintendent of DHQ hospital Dr. Nazir Ahmad while talking local journalists disclosed that majority of inhabitants are Kalash community and they not allow any pipeline because according to their Qazi and religious leaders pipe line is banned in Kalash religious. People of the area using water of a stream for drinking purposes which is totally contaminated and that is why cholera outbreak in the area. He said that EDO health have sent a health team to overcome on the disease.
Two booked for drawing amount of incomplete irrigation channel.
CHITRAL: Two persons including one Pesh Imam of Mosque were booked under section 419/420 by Chitral police for leaving incomplete irrigation supply channel and drawing security fund with fraud. According police station Chitral a application was submitted by a social worker of Chamarkun Noor Elahi regarding conducting inquiry of incomplete irrigation channel and drawing amount on the pretext of complete project by Naseerullah son of Amir Gulab an Arabic Teacher and Maulana Sanaullah son of Abdul Rahim. After proper approval by Court under section 156 Chitral police detailed inquiry team who reached on the spot to ascertain the factual position of the case. It was revealed/confirmed on the spot by inquiry team that the irrigation channel project had left incomplete and the accused persons have drawn the amount showing it a complete project in paper. As well as they also have drawn security fund by this way. Chitral police lodged FIR No. 513 under section 419/420 and started further investigations. hence the accused success getting Bail Before Arrest from the local court. Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Chitral has paid a sum of rupees 340700 to Naseerullah Project leader.
Executive District Officer Health also has mentioned that a water supply scheme have been left incomplete as a result people of the area drinking water of irrigation channel which is totally contaminated and health hazardous. Noor Elahi told this scribe that a complaint against Noorul Basar TOI, Rafiuddin Engineer, Imtiaz Sub Engineer TMA Booni and Nasrullah project leader have also submitted to Anticorruption Establishment Chitral for taking disciplinary action and legal measurements.
President Human Rights expressed concerned over discriminations with Chitrali students.
CHITRAL: Abdul Nasir president Legal Aid Forum for Human Rights (LAFH) expressed his great concerned over the dual policy and discriminations with Chitral students by Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Islamabad by exemption Chitral students from fee remission at Malakand Division because Chitral is a part of Malakand Division. He said that Chitral is most affected area by the tense situation at Malakand because its main roads remain block for all type of vehicular traffic at least 5 months a year due to heavy snowfall. As well residents of the district faced great hardships due to acute shortage of edible things because of Curfew at Dargai and main road remained closed. He said that AIOU administration have announced remission of admission fee for students of Malakand Division but they exempted Students of Chitral from this facility despite the fact that Chitral is also a part of Malakand Division as a result thousands of students depriving from education because they reluctant to pay heavy fees for admission of different educational programs of AIOU. He appeal President of Pakistan, Vice Chancellor of AIOU to extend this policy to Chitral and students of Chitral may also be given the facility of fee remission.
