Repeated discrimination with Jammu region by the successive JK governments: BJPMM

Jammu,September 15, (Vijay Kumar) – BJP State Vice-President & Mahila Morcha Prabhari (BJPMM) (Women Front) Smt. Suresh Jamwal said that the Jammu region has been subjected to repeated discrimination by the successive governments headed by the Kashmiri leaders supported by the Jammu-based NC and Congress, who have least concern for the development of Jammu.

Suresh Jamwal, while addressing the meeting, said the recent controversy raised by some vested interests over the setting up of Central University is one more example of the discriminatory attitude of the Kashmiri leaders adding that the stony silence of the Ministers and MLAs of the ruling alliance from Jammu is dangerous for the Jammuites. She said the need of the hour is to expose these leaders for their anti-Jammu stand.

She also stressed for displaying unity in order to build pressure on the government to set up the Central University in Jammu, as sanctioned by the HRD Ministry. She further said that the females still lack behind in getting education. It may be due to the economic condition of the family to which they belong. Hence, the government should direct all the private institutions to provide free education as is being done in government run schools so that no female is deprived of education on the excuse of financial problem. The morcha prabhari was also appraised of the progress being made in the membership drive launched some two months ago in the state.

BJP Mahila Morcha (BJPMM) will also organize dharna on September 23 to register protest against the delay tactics in setting up of Central University in Jammu and also in favour of its demand for free education to females in Private Institutions in the state. This was decided today in a meeting of Morcha State office Bearers, which was chaired by BJP State Vice-President & Morcha Prabhari Smt. Suresh Jamwal.

The meeting was attended by Mamta Singh, Sakina Bano, Sheela Handoo, Santosh Bhagat, Sweety Koul, Rajni Sethi, Priya Gupta and Shilpi Verma.
