SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (GroundReport) – Jeff Rice, a research librarian at University of Utah, has been recording voice of birds, animals, amphibians and mammals in the vicinity of 11 Western states.
"You get yourself in some strange situations," Rice said in an Associated Press report. So far, 800 recordings of wild creatures have been made. And the recordings are added to Western Soundscape Arhcive.
Rice is trying to create the first comprehensive archive of natural sounds in the West.
