Citizens of valley who are facing worst of the detentions of the hoipolli have now started expressing their burgeoning anger against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah through social networking sites, demanding him to Revoke Public Safety Act.
"Public Safety Act which was introduced in the state on 08 April 1978 when the militancy had not even taken off, and its basic aim was to deal with timber smuggling, & is being used as Money Making Machine (MMM) to quash people & detain them illegally, after release also. Amnesty International has also earlier slammed the Jammu and Kashmir government for continuing to use the Public Safety Act (PSA) to detain people without charge or trial in violation of their human rights and demanded its repeal.
