Irrigation channel inaugurated. By: Gul Hamaad Farooqi CHITRAL: Irrigation channel was restored after one year at Ayun village which was inaugurated by Masoodul Mulk CEO of SRSP. Sarhad Rural Support Program (SRSP) proviided some 6.3 million rupees for this purpose. This irrigation channel was damaged last year in August as a result 1600 households and hundred Acres of Land was remained barren. Chief executive officer SRSP Shahzada Masoodu Mulk was chief guest on the occasion. A function was also held on inauguration ceremony. Elites of the area highly hailed and thanked SRSP and Chief Executive officer for providing huge amount for this rehabilitation project. They said that after damaging of this irrigation channel by tremendous flood our land is barren and cultivable land could not produce any crop due to non availability of water. As well as some 1600 households were suffering badly because their cattle also face trouble due to no water. They said that Ayun is very fertile land and its rice, wheat, vegetable and fruit are very delicious and famous on country level but we face great loss for one year due to damaging of irrigation channel. Maulana Ghulam Yousuf, Haji Abdul Rehman, Ihsanullah Khan Member board of Director, Shahzada Masoodul Mulk CEO SRSP and Maulana Khaleequz Zaman spoke on the occasion. The speakers also appreciated local community who constructed standard quality concrete wall and water channel for this purpose. Some local people told this scribe that our crops were drying and land was barren after damaging of this irrigation channel and after its restoration now our land will be once again cultivable and we can get our livelihood by farming. They speakers thanked high ups of SRSP who play vital role in development and promoting of Chitral as well as rehabilitation of different uplift schemes.
