IT’S one of the biggest nights in the showbiz year, watched by 300 million people… but the stars heading for the Golden Globe Awards are most stressed by a middle-aged British guy.
Ex Blue Peter presenter Gethin Jones is in LA for Sunday’s Golden Globes and the hunk has revealed even A List celebs are nervous about meeting Globe host Ricky Gervais.
Gethin, 31, will be chasing down and getting gossip out of all the Hollywood celebs for Sky 1’s Red Carpet Live show, on the big night.
But he’s started early.
"What’s amazing is how everyone here is really nervous of Ricky Gervais," Gethin revealed. "Even the really big stars are worried about what he might say to them. It’s brilliant!
"There hasn’t been a host for 15 years and it’s great that it’s a Brit…and especially great that it’s a Brit who has got everyone so nervous."
And it seems celebs are right to be worried.
Just after we finished chatting to Gethin, Extras creator Ricky Gervais revealed his Globe-presenting philosophy.
The 48-year-old comedian said: "I’m going to say what I think is funny and I’m going to give the A-listers a hard time. And hope that people at home don’t turn off too quickly."
