Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) led by Mukesh Ambani has been conferred the prestigious “International Refiner of the Year “2013 by HART Energy. The award was given in 27th World Refining & Fuel Conference held in San Antanio, Texas, USA. RIL had won this award previously in 2005. It is the only Asian Company who has been conferred with this award twice for its Jamnagar Refinery. It has been recognized for its achievements in producing cleaner, better – quality gasoline and diesel fuel. The operating standards within RIL are at par with International refining standards and innovative use of resources in diverse environments.
The vision of Hart Energy’s World Refining and Fuel Conference this year was based on the idea of “Changing Feedstocks, Changing Fuels : Effects of Unconventionals on Economics, Refining and Fuels”. Mr. K. Balachandran, Chief of Operation (Jamnagar Refinery and Petrochemical Complex), accepted the award.
Philips 66 was also the recipient of the award by Hart Energy. These two companies were accessed on the basis of three categories primarily.
– Cleaner Environment: The production of cleaner and higher quality gasoline and diesel fuel.
– Investment and Corporate Growth: inculcating the international refining standards and innovative use of sustainable resources.
– Vision: The strategic implementation of innovation, global vision and the ability to foresee future changes and adapting to the current scenario in difficult conditions.
Reliance Jamnagar Refinery is world’s largest refinery at a single location. The recent addition of a new refinery has made Jamnagar complex into the world’s largest refining hub and a petrochemical complex. The refinery has a superior product pattern and lowest energy consumption. It has a refining capacity of 1.24 million barrels per day. The vision of Reliance is to make India, a global hub for refinery and petrochemicals. It strives to attain sustainable development methodologies and enhance quality of life.
