3 died 4 injured in road mishap.
CHITRAL: Three persons were died 3 injured in road mishap. According to Station Head Officer (SHO) Police Station Arandu Abdul Qayum) A land cruiser vehicle was on its way from Dir to Arandu (Pakk Afghan Border area) . When this bad luck passenger vehicle reached near Kotai village it fell down hundred of feet deep in Chitral River as a result 3 persons including driver of the vehicle were died and four injured. Those who died were identified as Muhammad Zubair Driver and Jameel resident of Dir while body of Rahmat Wali resident of Kotai is missing. Dead bodies of Zubair and Jameel were recovered from the river including the victimized vehicle of this fatal accident`. Hence independent sources told this scribe that one dead body is seeing to strained inside the vehicle and local people are trying to recover it. But there is a rumor that death toll might can increased because a passenger vehicle carrying 18 passengers and perhaps more people also died in this accident.
Injured were identified as Nadir Khan resident of Dargai Malakand Agency, Nawab Khan of Dargai, Said Ibad Khan of Arandu Chitral, Bakht Muhammad son of Bakhadar of Malakand Agency. Local volunteers and Chitral police are trying to recover missing persons. Arandu police has lodged report and started further investigations. Reasons behind this fatal accident is dilapidated condition of road which is situated on the bank of Chitral river there is no parapet wall, fencing wall no side wall toward river side on this 45 KM long road which is passing side by side with Chitral river. Social and political circle of Chitral have appeal Federal and Provincial government for early construction of Parapet and side wall towards river side on this road because this is the only land route which was using in winter season when main road is blocked for all type of vehicular traffic due to snowfall. It is worth to mention here that so many precious lives were lost in road accidents on this road.
