Actor Robert Pattinson will appear as Edward in the movie Twilight, scheduled for release in December 2008. The movie is the first film adaptation of a novel by fantasy/young adult novelist Stephenie Meyer.
Robert Pattinson, 22, is known best for his part as Cedric Diggory in the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
In Twilight, the teenage main character, Bella (played by Kristen Stewart) falls in love with Edward (Robert Pattinson) who is a vampire. This obviously creates some tension. Their love is all that keeps Robert Pattinson’s character from killing Bella.
Twilight has achieved critical success since its 2005 publication. It received a New York Times Editor’s Choice Award, Publisher’s Weekly Best Book of the Year Award, and Amazon.com’s Best Book of the Decade… So Far Award among others.
