Seminar on Role of Agha Khan Development Network on Sustainable Development.
CHITRAL: A day long seminar was held here at Booni some 75 KM from here on “Role of Aghan Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Sustainable Development organized by Ismaili Regional Council and ITREB Upper Chitral celebrating Golden Jubilee of 49th Spiritual Imam of Shia Imamia community. The program was started with the recitation from the Holy ‘Quran and Naath Sharif. Addressing to the Seminar Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmad Khan who chief guest on the occasion said while recognizing services of AKDN that now doors of AKSN should to be open for all segments of the society as this is dire need of the time. He said that Aghan Khan has proposed for declaring Arabic as official language for Pakistan so as to save from any discriminations and sectarianism. If his proposal imposed East Pakistan never would separated from West Pakistan. He said that Pakistan is standing on a very dangerous verge because of military operation against militants and facing from suicide attacks and terrorism.
He said that this is dire need of the time that we eradicate internal grudges and run shoulder by shoulder for development of the country. He said that due to militancy in its neighbors Chitral also in thread but we should to not allow any one who want to deteriorate our peaceful environment. He said Chitral is very far away and backward area and we should to welcome every one who play role in development of Chitral. He assured AKDN of full support by district government of Chitral and emphasized them to open their doors for all segments of the society either they belongs to Suny community or Ismaili. He stressed on developing of career council for sustainable uplifting and stressed on quality education to compete the other nation.
Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi coordinator of the seminar presented aim and objectives of the seminar. Tajuddin Sharar presented his key note on interfaith and urged on participants to of mutual harmony for sustainable development of the area. Sardar Hussain social activist read his paper on Ismaili Imamat in the context of Islamic leadership and its evolution I the history.
Shah Karez Development Consultant spoke on the title of AKDN ethical edifice. Muhammad Rahim on the Genesis of Imamat institutions and their role in the promotion of education. Sadat Hussain Mekhfi read a poem in honor of Prince Karim Agha Khan. Mrs Naseema of Professional Development Center presented her paper on Perspective of AKDN on gender. Dr. Inayatullah Faizi on the role of Sultan Muhammad Shah Aga Khan III in the Pakistan Movement. Dr. Abdul Karim on the global reorganization of AKDN and international awards detail. Hakim Ali Advocate who was pressing over the ceremony hailed services of AKDN. Adnan Zainul Abideen thanked all guests.
