Ronnie White, 19, was killed while in custody at Prince George’s County Prison in Upper Marlboro, MD on Sunday morning. White was being held for his alleged involvement in the hit and run death of a police officer.
The state medical examiner’s report showed that White was indeed forcefully killed. White had two broken bones in his neck which suggest death by strangulation. The White family is outraged at Ronnie White’s death seeing as he was under the supervision and sole company of Prince George’s County prison personnel. A statement from Prince George’s County prison Executive Jack Johnson echoes this line of thought: "Only the correctional officers in the (maximum security) unit where he was housed had access to him from the time he was put in the cell until the time of his death."
The White’s attorney, Bob Henry, made a statement today portraying the family’s anger at the way Prince George’s County is handling the case and calling for an "exhaustive investigation" into Ronnie White’s death. There are currently no suspects in the case.
