Rove Receives Less Than Lukewarm Reception At University of Iowa

While addressing the crowd of 1,000 students, Karl Rove was bombarded with hostilities directed towards him for being part of US President Bush’s cabinet. He was paid about $40,000 to speak in front of the crowd on Sunday. It would look to be a “hard earned” forty grand for having to deal with the reception that did get tense and hostile.

Even during the speech he gave, Karl Rove stopped to verbally lash out at the students that attended the event. He lashed out by saying: "You got a chance to ask your questions later and make your stupid statements, let me make mine.”

Two people in the crowd even took initiative to attempt a citizen’s arrest on Rove. However, those two were forcefully removed by police that were standing guard.

One member asked if Rove had tears over Iraq. Rove said that he in fact did shed tears and have felt inspired.

On a humorous note, one audience member asked Rove: “Can we have our $40,000 back?”

However, only the beginning part of the speech was filmed on camera. Everything else after that would have to come from the testimony of those that had attended Rove’s speech.

Parts not filmed on camera include a member telling Rove that he was named “worst person ever” by Keith Olbermann of MSNBC.
