Philippine Vice President Noli De Castro is utterly quiet on the issue of corruption hounding the Arroyo administration. The VP has been in silent mode for the past years despite of allegations of massive corruption in government. His failure to make a stand on the involvement of the first family to corruption was chided by the different sector of society.
De Castro was a former TV and Radio personality before he entered politics, first as senator and as the current vice president. He was remembered as the only senator who was laughed at and ridiculed for having said that he talked to God on his mobile phone in a prayer he led before the surprised colleagues and guest inside the senate.
His lackluster performance and child like antics as a senator all the while was forgotten by the gullible and ignorant Filipino people for he was voted as Vice President. And now that the government is embroiled in various anomalies, De Castro is acting like an innocent bystander and an unwilling witness to all the crimes committed by the people just right beside him.
The VP is equally blind and deaf as some of the Catholic Bishops do. They tolerate evil to rule over them and the Filipino nation. Clearly, the VP is controlled like robot and follow orders in a snap of a finger. He is submissive to the wickedness of his immediate boss and friends in Malacanang Palace. Perhaps, it’s time for the Vice President to again communicate with God using his mobile phone to know if he will remain a friend to the devil or make a moral decision to condemn evil once and for all.
