Srinagar, October 4 (Scoop News) – Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today informed the House that inhabitants of village Jawadara, who were migrated to Kangan during the year 2005 due to snowstorm, were provided necessary relief.
While replying to a Calling Attention Notice of Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, the Minister said that 72 families who migrated were provided relief including Rs. 72, 000 as cash, 500 blankets, 35 woolen pherns, 72 kitchen sets, 12 home mattresses, 12 bed sheets, 12 pillows and 500 pieces of assorted clothes.
Bhalla further informed that for rehabilitation of these families, land measuring 15 kanals, (Girmumkin), 10 marlas (Banjir-e-Jadeed) and 534 kanals and 07 marlas Girmumkin Bathoo entered as “Maqbooza Sarkar” was identified at village/estate Chewa Tehsil Sonawari. Similarly, state land measuring 15 kanals under Khasra No. 1086/02 situated in Revenue estate Phalipora tehsil Lar, district Ganderbal was identified by the Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal on the boundary line of village Chewa. The whole state land was identified for rehabilitation of these migrant families of village Jawadara. The Divisional commissioner, Kashmir visited the site, but the local population raised objection to the allotment of the state land to the residents of Jawadara.
The Minister said that an alternate 150 kanals of land in estate Tangath, Bonakote Bandipora, Brannar Aathwato Bandipoa and Pathekoote near Lalquila Mode Banipra has already been identified for rehabilitation of the said migrants, but the local MLA objected to this acquisition for for rehabilitation on the plea that Aathwatoo is up-coming tourist resort and in Brannar, the adjacent locality did not allow rehabilitation of the migrants.
As per inputs received from police, the locals of Bandipora area are also against its allotment to the people of Jawadara. Sofar as Kacharie Land at Pathakoote near Lal-quila Mode is concerned, the same, accordingly to tehsildar, Bandipora had been identified for allotment to army in exchange of land at Madder Bandipora occupied by BSF but this was also resented by the locals.
He said an amount of Rs. 35.00 lakhs has been sanctioned / released by Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora out of District plan and is at the disposal of Assistant Commissioner, Revenue for purchase of land for resettlement of avalanche prone hamlets of Gurez area. However, as intimated by the Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora a Sub-Plan for Gurez area has been framed at a cost of Rs. 159 crores for various sectors which also include rehabilitation of 400 families of avalanche prone areas of Gurez Sub-Division. The Sub-Plan is under examination in the Planning and Development Department at present, the Minister informed.
