The Minister was replying to a question by Abdul Gani Vakil in Legislative Assembly today.
He said that under the scheme more youths would be benefitted in coming years. He said that Government has launched a massive awareness campaign by conducting 55 Employment Fairs (EF) across the State to acquaint the youth about the benefits of Sher-i-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for Youth (SKEWPY). He said that Employment and Counselling Centres receive huge response from un-employed youth to set up their own entrepreneurship units in their respective areas.
Khalid Najib Suhrawardy, Ajay Sadhotra and Murtaza Khan also raised the supplementaries.
The Minister for Social Welfare, Ms Sakina Ittoo informed the House that Rs. 25.21 crore scholarships were disbursed among 4 lakh students of SC and ST in the State.
The Minister was replying to a question by Naresh Kumar Gupta in Legislative Council today.
She said that the department is distributing the financial assistance under various centrally sponsored schemes which includes militancy affected victims, road accidents, old age pension and scholarships.
The Minister said that the amount disbursed by the department in Doda district in various centrally sponsored schemes amounting to Rs.2.86 crores during 2009-10.
Supplementaries were also raised by B. R. Kundal and Subash Kumar Gupta.
Minister of State for Health and Medical Education, Javid Ahmad Dar informed the House that 2,279 posts have been created in Health Department (HD) to provide better human resources to newly created health institutions of the State.
The Minister was replying to a question by Narboo Gialchan in Legislative Council today.
He said out of 2279 posts created, 144 posts created for health institutions of Leh and Kargil districts. He said that no new medical aid centre / medical sub-centres have been established during the year 2009-10 and 2010-11.
