Anantnag,May 07(Scoop News)-An expenditure of Rs.97.09 crore has been booked against an availability of Rs.100.57 crore under District plan allocation for the year 2013-14 up to the end of March 2014.
This was disclosed in a meeting held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Anantnag Saugat Biswas, while taking a detailed review of the achievements registered under District Plan allocation. He was informed that under NABARD, 101 road/bridge schemes were taken up for execution at a cost of RS. 183.76 crore, out of which 53 schemes have been completed and 48 are under progress. Under PMGSY a road length of 141.62 Kms has been black topped and 188.29 Kms road length made fair weather at a cost of Rs. 149.16 crore benefitting 86,132 souls. Similarly under R&B sector an expenditure of Rs. 23 crore was made on various R&B works including mecadamization of 46 km road length.
The meeting was also informed that the production of fresh and dry fruits in the district has reached to 1.66 lac metric tons and 0.50 metric tons respectively.
Under Power sector, 1455 damaged transformers have been repaired in the district during this period while under Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan (NBA) 6834 individual household latrines have been constructed.
The meeting was informed that all the decisions taken in the District Development Board meeting have been implemented. The DDC directed the District officers and the Engineers to redouble their efforts for addressing the problems of general public.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Anantnag, ADC Anantnag, Joint Director/Chief Planning Officer Anantnag and all sectoral officers of the District including Engineers of various engineering wings.
