As a model Yana GoodDay has been the face of multiple commercials and ad campaigns, as an actress she’s starred in countless films and television shows, and as a television host she’s brought audiences across Russia and multiple European countries incredible insights into a vast range of topics.
After spending the last decade at the top of the Russian entertainment industry, this multi-talented performer is heading west where she will undoubtedly make a splash with American audiences just like she has at home in Russia.
Renowned for her ability to play a broad spectrum of characters from the villainous Olga Radosteva in the series The Fortune Teller to Liza, the young golden child in the series Kids in the Cage, Yana GoodDay’s reputation as an actress helped her land the starring role of Katya in the upcoming half-hour series Brighton, which will begin filming later this year.
Produced by Richard D’Alessio who is known for his work as both a writer and director for commercial campaigns for huge global brands including Budweiser, Volkswagen and Pepsi, as well as several promos for the hit television shows Shameless and Witches of East End, Brighton will take viewers into the comedic lives of a Russian family who immigrates to Brighton Beach, New York in the 1980s.
Led by their parents Olga and Misha, Katya (Yana GoodDay) and Vova move to the U.S., but in the same way those who immigrate to a new country have different experiences, the two siblings meet the challenges of assimilating to American culture in totally different ways.
While Vova clings to his Russian roots, Katya quickly transforms herself into a typical American girl. Going to great lengths to become more “American,” GoodDay’s character goes as far as changing her name to Kate in order to make the transition easier.
“I plan to portray Kate as a modern and intelligent American girl, despite the fact that she was born in Russia,” explains GoodDay. “I want to show that an educated and keen person can be successful anywhere, it doesn’t matter what nationality they are.”
Yana GoodDay is known for having the look that the camera loves. As a model she has been featured in campaigns for Huggies, Citroen, Russian Radio, RoColor, Dobriy juice and Campbell’s, and has walked the runway for Revlon, Naturana, one of Germany’s leading swimsuit and lingerie companies, New York-based designer Alice Yim and many more.
She has also graced the covers of Kitchen Magazine and Domostroyka Magazine, in addition to being featured in The Home Hearth Magazine (New Year’s Eve special edition issue).
GoodDay’s adaptable nature and grace on camera has also made her a highly sought after television host for a variety of television shows on some of Russia’s biggest networks.
The blonde bombshell has helped catapult the viewership of multiple programs with her role as the host of The Good Morning on VH1 Russia, Weapons on Russia’s Fight Club Channel, TV 3 Channel’s Cinemania, The Snatch, Hobby and Cult of Cash, as well as Test Drive, which aired during NTV’s Morning on the NTV, and TDK Channel’s Sexual Revolution.
With the perfect combination of charm, smarts and beauty that befits a leading lady, this Ruski heartthrob will definitely be the talent to watch in Hollywood in 2015.
